Theme: Jobs of the future     9th class

The aims of the lesson: To form communication skills on theme “My future job”.

To develop pupils’ speaking, writing and reading abilities

To present new words and expressions concerning the new theme

to practice the pronunciation.

Мethods: individual and pair work, asking and answering the questions

Visual aids: presentation, cards.

Procedure of the lesson:

  1. Оrganization moment.

— Good morning, boys and girls. I’m glad to see you. Take your seats and get ready for the lesson. Let’s greet our dear guests. Good morning, everybody. So, let’s continue our work.

— Write down the date, please.

  1. Phonetic drill: Reading the poem “I want to be”

Some people often say to mе:
«Have уоu decided what уоu want to bе?»
I usually answer, «I don’t know,»
But it isn’t really so.
I want to win аn Olympic race,
I want to see the Earth from space,
I want to travel to Katmandu
I want to bе rich and famous, too.
I want to bе оn Hollywood’s screen,
I want to invent а new machine,
I want to bе very clever and wise,
I want to win the Nobel prize.

    Gerund   V+ing  form  but it’s  not verb

     e.g. Swimming is my hobby.  (Gerund)

      She is swimming in the swimming pool. (Present Continuous Tense)

Gerund functions:

1 Running is a good for your heart. (subject)

2 He hates waking up early. (object)

3 What I hate most is repeating myself (Subject complement)

4 I saw him riding his bike. (object complement)

5  I’m interested in improving myself. ( object of preposition)

6  She doesn’t like your coming so late.( object of a possessive)

IV Are you tired let’s have a rest then. Let’s play a game, in this game we will revise the traits of character and you should say to your neighbor  using only positive character.

  e.g  Teacher: Zhansaya, you are intelligent

Zhansaya:  Nurzhaugan, you are smart.

Nurzhaugan: Daniar, you are hardworking. Etc.

 V  Speaking

Talk about the job you are interested in.
Why are you interested in this job?
What skills and qualities does this job require?
What traits of character does this profession need?

  Is money important for you( is your job well-paid or low –paid)?

 

VI  Writing. Write a short essay on theme “ My Future Job”
