Ведущий 1: As you know we are going to celebrate the Independence Day of Kazakhstan . On the 16-th of December 1991 a Declaration about the Independence of Kazakhstan was adopted. 25 years have passed since that memorable date. Our President N. Nazarbaev announced this year as the year of the 25-th anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kazakh youth went out to the central square to show their protest against the administrative system. The weather was cold that day. It was snowing. But the authority was against them. ASTANA
Astana is the capital of our country. It is the seat of our government. The history of Astana began in the year 1830. Astana is not only the political centre. It is also centre of the industrial and cultural life of Kazakhstan. Astana is a modern and beautiful city on the right bank of the Ishym. It is a very important transport centre. N.A. Nazarbayev is the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 1991. The population of Astana is 500.000 people. Astana became the capital of our state in 1998. Almaty was the capital before Astana. There are a lot of libraries, museums, theatres, palaces in Astana. Astana is becoming the international business and cultural centre of not only Kazakhstan but the European continent as a whole. We are proud of Astana.
