Aims : a ) to fix the pupils knowledge of the second conditional sentences

1. b) to develop pupils memory, thinking, creative abilities and vocabulary
2. c) to teach pupils to use the second conditional in their speech

2.Presentation of grammar The second conditional

First of all let us remember about our first conditional, negative and questions

Come to the blackboard and write sentences on it

Form  if+ Past  Simple + would+infinitive

Examples:Positive: if I ate cake , I would get fat

Negative : if he got earlier, he wouldn`t always be late

Question: What would you do if you won a lot of money?

Second conditional— шындыққа келмейтін және оның мұмкін болатын нәтижесін сипаттайды, бұл шарттық орындалуы екіталай және ол шындыққа қарама-қарсы іс-әрекетті білдіреді

Now let`s do some exercises

1. 1. Look at this sentence

If Charlie Chaplin  was alive today, he would be over 100 years old. Of course, Chaplin isn`t alive today.The sentence imagines something that is not true.

The verbs after if is Past Simple,but it refers to the present.This structure is

Called the Second Conditional;

If+ past simple+would

If he worked harder, he would do better

We can use the same type of the sentence to talk about the future;

If I won a lot of money, I`d buy a big house

For example ;complete these sentences.

If Sally lived in Brighton, she would be  near her parents

Fred would read more if  he didn`t work so hard.  Etc.
