The theme:  Comparing the systems of education in Great Britain and Kazakhstan.
Aims: to compare educational system in Great Britain and Kazakhstan.
Educational: to receive topical vocabulary, to compare the facts on the theme to practice the usage of numbers and prepositions.
Developing: to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills;
to develop pupils interest in research works.
Brining up: to interest in learning English, in learning education system in Great Britain and in our country Kazakhstan.
The type of the lesson: mixed
The method of the lesson: explaining, showing.
Visual aids: book, computers, cards, posters, markers, pictures, an interactive board.

                                                           Procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment:
a) The greetings:
Teacher:
Good morning children.  How are you?

Pupils:

Good morning teacher.

1. b) Conversation with on duty:
   Teacher:
   Who is on duty today? Who is absent? What date is it today? What day is it today?

Pupils: We are on duty today. All are present.  Today is the 20 th of December. It is Saturday.

Teacher: Thank you, sit down.
II. Warm-up:
Children, now, you have to stand in a circle and introduce yourself  to your neighbors in English and in Kazakh.   I’ll divide you into  two groups. Great Britain and Kazakhstan.
III. Checking up the home task:

Teacher: What was your home task?

Pupils: Topic: “Professions”
Teacher:  What was your last theme?

Pupils: “Professions of the future”

You should watch a video.   (Video about education).  And you have to tell me about this video. What can you say about this video?  How do you understand?

Explanation of the new materials

Teacher:

In Great Britain children start going to school when they are five and continue studying until they are 16 or older. Compulsory education begins at the age of five when they go to primary school. Primary education lasts for six years. First they attend the infant school from five to seven. In infant schools children don’t have real classes.

Education in Kazakhstan

We started school at the age of seven. After four years of primary school we went to secondary school. Primary and secondary schools together comprise eleven years of classes are compulsory in our republic.

Our president N. A. Nazarbaev said: “Every person in our country must know three languages: Kazakh as a state language, Russian as a language of international communication and English as a widespread language in the world, as a language of business and new technology”.
